Overview
What is Broadcasting and Journalism?
Students participating in our Broadcasting and Journalism Academy learn in a one-to-one computing classroom. Integrating Broadcasting and Journalism into classroom instruction means students will be given the opportunity to design, produce, write, and publish multimedia content including visual arts, journalism, and telecommunications. Student learning is infused with 21st Century Literacy Skills with the goal of increasing collaboration, communication, cooperation, and competition within our local and global communities.
Academy Focus
Recognizing that Broadcasting and Journalism is, and will continue to be, a driving force in workplaces, communities, and personal lives in the 21st Century, it is critical that students are provided the opportunity to become leaders with Broadcasting and Journalism beginning at the elementary age. The Broadcasting and Journalism classrooms include one 3rd grade, one 4th grade, and one 5th grade Gifted and Talented class. Along with the technology in the classroom, the students will be in charge of a broadcasting room.
